2024 IMAT Rankings and Cut Offs | Updated Weekly

We are continuously updating this page with the cutoff scores and ranking lists for every public medical and dentistry uni in Italy offering an English programme. As of 13th of December (EU scrolling has been moved to Fridays), this list is correctly up-to-date.

The 2024 IMAT rankings were released on Thursday, 10th of October. Universitaly for EU students, and the specific universities for Non-EU IMAT candidates. You can find below the number of seats for each university based on the 2024 list, and their current cut-off score. EU cut-off scores will change for quite some time due to scrolling, so we will continue updating the page through out the next few months. The EU seat numbers are according to this official document by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MUR), and the non-EU seats from this official document.

You can also compare this years score changes with:

Important Information

In order to enrol online in universities students have received an offer from, candidates must use the FISCAL CODE (codice fiscale) generated on Universitaly. Later, they have to obtain the OFFICIAL FISCAL CODE from an Agenzie Delle Entrate. Here is an overview of Italian bureaucracy to help guide you. After the deadline for enrollment into the university, the online procedure will not be available, and not-properly registered candidates will be considered as renouncing.

EU students who have not received an offer should MAKE SURE TO CONFIRM THEIR INTEREST TO STAY IN THE RANKING. Scrolling can go on for weeks, and you might still have a chance to be offered a seat.

2024 NON-EU IMAT CUT-OFFS

Due to the Marco Polo programme between Italy and China since 2006, some universities reserve certain non-EU seats for Chinese students, colloquially referred to as “Marco Polo seats”. Universities often have additional requirements for such Chinese international students.

However, these spots often remain unfilled and are often allocated to the non-EU seat pool. For example, in 2024 Pavia had a total of 40 non-EU seats, 5 of which were reserved for Chinese students. However, since only 1 Chinese student applied, a total of 39 seats were allocated to non-EU, non-Chinese students.

  1. I have pre enrolled in university of Campania but during IMAT registration I selected Bologna university on first I scored 67 in IMAT now I got my name in bolongas list so will I be able to get admission to university of Campania now

  2. Hello, out of curiosity, i want to ask why do they accepted only 8 students to university of bari when the mentioned number of pre-told places outside the bracket are 11. Is there any reason for that?

  3. Can you please tell me is university of Turin imat non-eu ranking list published or not and if it is not then when will it published

  4. I thought I would at least get into a place, but I couldn’t as an EU student. Do you have any guesses on how much the scores will decrease? Should I wait for some universities’ scores to be reduced by ten or five points?

  5. Merhaba 51.90 Imat skoru ile Torino tercihime girebilir miyim …AB vatandaşı değilim Türk vatandaşıyım ikinci tercihim Messina kontenjanlar nasıl belirleyici olacak

      1. Tiars run down my cheeks😭😭as Catania non eu ranking list stops on my name, is there any way I can get admitted with 57.00 as non eu

        1. Hello, congratulations on your score! I am sorry for the extremely close cutoff. Though it is rare for non-EU cutoffs to drop, it can happen: if an applicant misses an enrolment deadline, drops out in the first year, or fails to obtain their visa, then the next candidate will be offered a seat.

I don’t want to get your false hopes up, but stay on your toes. Check Catania’s website (Catania’s dashboard and medicine in English bando page) regularly and your email as well. Catania will likely release an updated PDF if anything changes.

  6. Remarkably higher cut-off due to easier exam.
May the glory belongs to those who would spare me a place in Bicocca in 2025 ☠️💣😭

    1. What’s the deal with Turin? How do we suppose to start learning on Monday when they didn’t release the results yet.

        1. Unfortunately, it is rare for non-EU cutoff scores to drop. However, if someone misses an enrolment deadline, drops out in the first year, or fails to obtain their visa, then the next candidates will be offered a seat.

    1. We do not know, as the University of Turin has not released its non-EU ranking, stating “technical issues.” We will update the article as soon as possible after Turin releases it!

  7. I have given my IMAT this year for University of TURIN. Trouble getting the ranking list to check. Please assist.
    Regards,

    1. Hello, as of today, 15 Oct, 2024, University of Turin has yet to release their non-EU ranking, stating “technical issues.” We will update the article as soon as we obtain the ranking list!

    1. Unfortunately, I am sorry to say that, with roughly 150 students ranked above you, you will not be accepted by Pavia this year. However, this is not the end of the road: you can always attempt the IMAT again next year, look for entries to medicine in other countries, and find productive work to fill your gap year. Nothing wrong with exploring various options! Best of luck on your future endeavors!!

  8. Sir , i have applied for Federico ii. I am in the waiting list because of the shortage of 0.7 marks. My score is 67.4 . is there any chances of scrolling and me getting the admission? Please find me a solution to resolve this . Please reply

I don’t want to get false hopes up, but remain vigilant. Check your email and the Federico II’s website regularly. They will release updates if the ranking changes. However, also be realistic and don’t necessarily expect it to happen.

  10. Hi, I scored 56.9 on the IMAT for Marche Politecnic university (as Non-EU). Do I have a chance for admission this year?

    1. Hello, with 12 people above you on the non-EU ranked list, I would say it is unlikely for you to be admitted this year. I hate being the deliverer of bad news, but that is the reality of the situation. Whatever happens though, best of luck on your future endeavors!

  11. What’s the deal with Turin? How do we suppose to start learning on Monday when they didn’t release the results yet.

  12. sir, could u pls guide the procedure to see our result of imat 2024 in its official website-” university of parma”

    1. For non-EU students, it is best practice to visit each uni site and check their non-EU ranking PDFs. For EU students, they must check on their Universitaly EU scrolling page. Often the uni the emails students, but there may be errors or delays, so best to do it yourself manually!

  13. Is it expected that some universities will release an updated list or announce more available seats for non-EU students? If so, where can I find this information?

  14. hello, I am an eu student waiting at 61.3 points only 5 people are in front of me waiting for the tor vergata. Do you think I should wait for a spot or just go to LV. Thank you for your help

  15. Hi, just wanted to let you know, the file for La Sapienza is inserted into Turin’s PDF. Could you please update when you get a chance.
Also can I ask, how would a student find out if they missed out, but then someone (like top scorer in La Sapienza) dropped out and that student is invited? Would that be over email or only via Universitaly?

  16. Hi folks!

Please don’t take me wrong, but from where are you getting the cutoff scores from EU candidates?

I’ve being thing to get this information to produce statistics for my own use (to better prepare form the next year exam) but it’s being nearly impossible to find this data in each university’s web sites.

You do a great service in posting the minimum scores evolution, but being able to see the whole picture of the evolution of the lists would be of great value for me.

    Thank you,
    Sergio

    1. Hello, the EU scrolling list on Universitaly is what we use to determine the EU cutoffs. Unfortunately, the list is only available to those currently participating in the EU scrolling.

      1. Hi San!

        Thank you for your reply!

My daughter took the test this year, however in her reserved area at Universitaly we are not being able to find any link to the EU scrolling lists. The only list we could find was the Anonymous general ranking of the ~10000 candidates.

Could you give me a hint where inside Universitaly web site my daughter could find the EU scrolling?

        Thx in advance!
        Sergio

        1. Hello! The list is available on Universitaly.it, under Accesso Programmato and IMAT > IMAT > National Ranking 2024/2025 > TEST SCORES. If your daughter still can’t access her EU scrolling list, please submit a support ticket on Universitaly as soon as possible. She might not have been included on the EU scrolling list by accident.

  17. Hey, I was wondering if you could mention how many seat are left in the third round if that’s okey with you guys.
    Thanks

  18. Hello!
    I got a score of 58.
Do I still have a chance to get into Tor Vergata or the University of Turin?
    Is there no chance left?

  19. Hello, if my status is “booked”, I can enroll in the university or I need to wait to be “assigned”? I would like to enroll in the university that I am booked, but I am worried that it’s is not possible until all places above my choice is filled up

  20. Hey, I just looked at this cut off and the previous year’s cut off and noticed that the non eu seats in University of Milan Statle has decreased by 10 seats. I wanted to confirm this change? And whether it will be 15 or 25 in 2025.

    1. Hello, yes, you are correct, the number of non-EU seats for Milan went down from 25 to 15 in 2024. MUR usually announces the number of seats in July/August in the months before the IMAT, so we’ll have to wait until next summer to see the number of seats for 2025.
